In my last post I discussed life in the ghetto and what one's priority would be. There is one controversial thing that must be discussed in order to cover the entire topic. The joining of a gang.
A person's life in the ghetto is obviously not an easy one. On top of that, a person's life is constantly being threatened, for many die everyday. It is a real battleground. Pimps, projects, and drug dealing create an atmosphere almost uninhabitable.
There is however, one thing that many go to, men and women. A gang. Many (typically those who live in the ghetto) look at gangs as a belonging, and as means of protection for you and your family. I'm not saying gangs are a good thing, for the countless acts of violence that gangs produce also contributes to the inhabitable setting of ghettos.
My question to you is...if you lived in a ghetto, saw no getting out anytime soon, had little money for food to support even yourself...wouldnt belonging to a gang seem positive?
