"In the Ghetto"
Life in the ghetto is obviously not easy.If you had to live in the ghetto alone, what would be your main priority, your goal? There's a answer in particular that I'm looking for. Many rappers rap about life in the ghetto, but many rappers also rap about getting out of the ghetto.... Is it likely? Why or why not?
The Job that Everyone Wants.
In our World today, there are actual "James Bonds" that go undercover and blow illegal operations wide open. After i did my research I've come to the conclusion that i wouldnt want to be a "James Bond". These people are constantly on the move, constantly risking their lives as well as their careers, and on top of that, it eliminates any chance of a family. No wife, no kids, no relatives...nothing.
The next James Bond movie that you watch, ask yourself, how happy is he really? How happy would you be if you knew you'd never have kids or a wife? That if your mother passed away it could take months for you to find out.
Would you want to be a spy? Maybe alot of these cool jobs we see in the movies probably aren't so fun to actually live with? Is it worth it?

Ends Meat
I have a step sister who works at a strip club. No, she's not a stripper but since she works in that environment much of my family treats her as if she was one.
I've always been under the impression that a person should do what they must in order to make a living, to be happy. Yes, I'm sure she could sit behind a desk at some law office making similar money, but she chose a strip club. Why? I don't know.
If working in that environment makes her happy and get food on her table, then i don't see why all the ruckis. Does it really matter where a person works as long as they're making enough money to support themselves and their hobbies, anywhere from a school teacher to a stripper?

Little by Little
Since were on my favorite english topic, poems, I decided to share this poem with you. The writer will remain unknown.

I'm letting go. Little by little, but I am.
It sometimes hurts. I sometimes cry.
I sometimes erase it all
And sometimes I try and I can't.
But I'm letting go. I am.
That's just the way I am.
I can't help it anymore.
*
My mind races.
Unlike the hare
Who had the patience to compete.
I'm racing to defeat myself.
It's torture in a shell
My heart has been to hell
I'm letting go.
Little by little, but I am.
I learned that now I can.
*
Sometimes it's good.
Sometimes it's sweet.
There are times too
That I never meet a standard,
Where questions flow unanswered
And it's okay in itself.
I'm taking down the shelf of expectations
Crowded by imitations
I learned that now I can.
*
I'm letting go. Little by little,
But I am.

Reflection? What does this poem mean to you?

Do it for the Kids if not for Yourself.
I had a friend in middle school that was going through really tough times at home. His grades were slipping, he was getting into drugs and abandoning his friends. All of this was because of his parents.
His parents were constantly aggressively fighting in and out of the house. Eventually both his parents sat down togehter and discussed what they were going to do about all of this. They decided that splitting up could ruin the childrens childhood.
They came to the conlclusion that they were going to stay together in the house, just live in seperate rooms, moving one child out of his room into another, and moving the other child into the garage where they made it into an air conditioned room.
I'm not going to discuss what has become of the child, for it might bias your comment. If this were you, what would you want your parents to do? If you were a parent, what would you do?

I Can't Sleep....
I read Cate's blog today in "Free Write" and it really made me think about a lot. Her blog spoke about how people were so nice during the hollidays. I told her because it's a time when people are so excited and gay about the fact that their religion is actually giving back to them.
(Those who are religous, cautiously read ahead.)
Religion, something I have no belief in. When i was young, i prayed to God just about every night. The more i prayed, the worse my non-self-controllable situations got. If God were real, wouldn't he help those who need it most? Was God there in the hollocaust when twelve million of his "creations" were tortured and burned to death in concentration camps? Where is God in Darfur where millions are becoming killed every year. I'm not saying God doesnt exist, I'm just saying that i dont think he's as great and hyped up to be all he is to be. He's a good figure to encourage the billions of people on this Earth to obey Commandments and the bible and to live a "proper life".
So now December has come. As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our holy God's son, "Jesus Christ". In order to do so we need to buy gifts in order to manipulate children to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
So far in all this celebration, two people in this country have been killed and another shot. The irony in shooting another person in the celebration of the birth of Gods son...is outragous.
I'm not the Grinch, for I too celebrate Christmas, but the way people celebrate it has completely dimished the pupose of the holliday.
I've answered my own question. God doesnt answer my prayers because he knows i might go out and kill another person while being in the spirit of celebrating his son's birthday. God might of just given up. I'm just as unpredictable as any, why help me? Why help you? We just might disappoint him just as much as the next person.
Reactions? Thoughts? Comments?

Live life on the edge!
What does a midnight highway racer, a pot smoker, a fight club member, and a urban base jumper all have in common? They all do what gives them a certain satisfaction in life, against the law or not. I'm not arguing the law here, im just simply debating if laws, like rules, are sometimes meant to be broken if not at the expense to others. Is it ok for a person to do 120 mph on the highway at 2 o'clock in the morning if it doesnt endanger others? Should a person be able to do what he or she loves if it's in small portions? Just here or there or at the whim of the moment? Do you?
Doing what you love
My moms favorite diner subject is now the constant reminder of "what college I want to go to and what I want to do with my life".
To be honest there would be no better job than working on the special efects for movies and video games. My mom accepts my decision but wishes I'd be an accountant and make "more" money.
If you were in my situation, would you rather take the boring accountant job that payes higher, or be part of theatrical productions and gain more experience in order to gain more pay? Does anybody else have these contemplations?
